IRVINE, Calif.LendAPI, the leading digital onboarding, loan origination system (LOS), and credit decision engine platform, today announced the appointment of Ian Angkiangco as Vice President of Compliance. In this role, Ian will oversee LendAPI’s regulatory compliance framework, lending licensing strategy, vendor onboarding and monitoring protocols, and end-to-end risk governance across the Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Lending-as-a-Seravice (LaaS) ecosystems.

Strengthening Compliance in a Dynamic Regulatory Landscape

With a strong background in legal, finance, technology contracts, and regulatory operations, Ian brings extensive expertise in managing complex regulatory environments for financial technology and consumer lending platforms. At LendAPI, he will lead critical compliance initiatives essential for a high-growth BaaS platform, including:

  • Lending Licensing & Regulatory Strategy: Navigating state and federal licensing frameworks to expand LendAPI’s Lending-as-a-Service (LaaS) capabilities and partner integrations.

  • Vendor Onboarding & Lifecycle Management: Establishing thorough compliance vetting and operational due diligence for third-party service providers, data vendors, and fintech partners.

  • Vendor & Partner Monitoring: Implementing ongoing risk assessment, audit readiness, and performance monitoring to adhere to strict institutional risk standards.

  • BaaS Compliance Oversight: Managing BSA/AML/KYC guidelines, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulatory expectations, Fair Lending (ECOA), TILA, FCRA, and UDAAP compliance standards.

  • Data Privacy & Governance: Ensuring secure handling, storage, and transmission of highly regulated financial data across bank and lender integrations.

Ian will work closely with Nicole Houston, Executive Vice President of Lending at LendAPI, to further refine and scale the company’s Lending-as-a-Service product line. Together, they will streamline how sponsor banks, credit unions, non-bank lenders, and fintech innovators navigate regulatory requirements throughout their partner onboarding lifecycle.

Mr. Angkiangco holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Dayton School of Law and is an attorney admitted to the State Bar of Texas. His background spans corporate counsel, technology contracts, real estate, and finance.
