Our Mission is to Make it Easier to Manage Debt

When the student debt crisis impacted co-founder Tomas Campos’ niece and sister, he was inspired to find a way to help his loved ones—and the millions of other Americans who took out student loans—get out of debt sooner. Too many young people are starting their lives with debt that will accrue over their lifetimes, while solutions have not kept pace with this growing problem.

As a founding team that previously built the APIs and financial technology for one of the largest payment networks in the world, we wanted to use our skills to help Americans struggling with debt. In order to truly understand the problem, we spent months learning from borrowers and their loved ones, listening to their needs, ideating solutions, and testing products. We realized that our greatest impact would be through a modern platform that could enable hundreds and thousands of apps and services to unlock the solutions to the crisis.

We believe that debt shouldn’t hold you back in life, so we started Spinwheel to democratize intelligent debt solutions. Spinwheel provides the core infrastructure that popular apps and services can use to embed the payment, management, and application of loans. By increasing access, choice, and transparency, Spinwheel helps to alleviate the burdens of living with debt and improves the outcome for all borrowers.
