LendAPI Expands Credit Union Team with the Appointment of John G. Warner III

Championing Main Street America

Credit unions are the financial lifeblood of Main Street America. Whether it is a family looking for their first mortgage, a local entrepreneur seeking capital to expand a small business, or everyday community members needing reliable financial services, credit unions are there to serve and provide the best possible products.

The industry continues to show remarkable resilience and growth. Today, there are over 4,400 federally insured credit unions serving more than 143 million members across the United States. Because they consistently put people over profits, credit unions are experiencing steady membership growth — and LendAPI is here to provide them with the modern digital infrastructure they need to compete, innovate, and win.

Building on Our Ecosystem Success

John’s appointment naturally follows the strategic hiring of fintech veteran Brian Kerssies in May 2026. As our VP of Credit Union Alliance and Ecosystem Success, Brian has been instrumental in building out our knowledge base and project management capabilities, ensuring that credit unions have the hands-on support they need to create and launch new products seamlessly. With John joining the ranks, LendAPI is doubling down on our ability to deliver tailored, instant product-building solutions for the credit union ecosystem.

Deep Industry Expertise

John brings a wealth of multidimensional financial experience to LendAPI. With his prestigious designations as a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) and Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor (CCUFC), his dedication to the credit union philosophy is clear.

His extensive background spans multiple facets of the financial industry, including strategic roles with credit bureaus, automotive finance at Ford, and deep operational experience with Embold Credit Union. Furthermore, his banking experience at Truist provides him with a comprehensive view of the broader financial landscape. This unique blend of traditional enterprise banking and direct credit union experience allows him to adapt large-scale financial strategies into actionable, member-centric solutions for our credit union clients.

Voices from Leadership

Bennett Krieger, Head of GTM at LendAPI, highlighted the strategic value of this new addition:

"Bringing John onto the team is a game-changer for LendAPI. His unique blend of experience across traditional banking at Truist, credit bureaus, and direct credit union leadership gives us an incredible edge. This additional expertise from John will help us get a much deeper understanding of the credit union space, ensuring our product roadmap perfectly aligns with what these institutions need to serve their members today."

John Warner is equally ready to hit the ground running:

"I am incredibly excited to join a company that truly understands the value of credit unions. Credit unions do the heavy lifting for Main Street America, and they need agile, modern tools to continue providing the best products to their communities. LendAPI’s platform allows them to launch new financial products instantly, and I look forward to using my background to help our credit union and CUSO partners innovate and thrive."

Welcome to the team, John! We cannot wait to see the impact you will make for our clients and the broader credit union community.
