This week we had our company-wide quarterly offsite. This was our second offsite with a whole lot more people joining this time. We had our advisors and customers stopping by to say hi and we’ve made some major decisions to focus and double down on Embedded Finance.

“Freedom to Create” Tour
We circled back to the San Francisco Bay Area where I met the President and CEO Provident Credit Union. Jim served on the Tower Foundation board at San Jose State University and both of us had a candid chat about digital onboarding and customer experience.
Next week, Sam and I are going to visit one of our bank clients on site near Atlanta, GA where we will discuss additional work and next steps in our integration with MeridianLink and our decision engine. We are excited to speak to this bank and help them to expand their presence online.
The “Freedom to Create” Tour will kick off again at Lend360 and Money2020 where we are hosting events after events and inviting industry leaders to chat about the next phase of embedded lending and point of sale finance.
Look out Eric and I landing in Dallas and Las Vegas for these events. We are looking to see you guys there.
LendAPI Platform News
We spent 3 whole days in Irvine, California with our product, project and engineering teams to discuss the next phase of our growth. I led the opening remarks with a review of our successes thus far and everyone had the chance to raise our “Best of Show” award we won at Finovate.
We looked through our customer segment and examined our capabilities both in platform and our experience. I’ve decided that we will double down on our Embedded Finance, BNPL and traditionally known as Point of Sale financing going forward.
Architecturally speaking, our platform is layered to have administrative configurations from a super-tenant view all the way to a tenant then sub-tenant management. This allows us to have the ability for any large organization to manage their brokers, stores and branches.
At each store and branch level, we also have layers to have their administrative staff sign-in and take care of applicants and customers. We are uniquely positioned to give larger retailers whether physical or e-commerce a 360 degree view of their entire operations.
We are working now to have even more features built for our clients to manage their in-store experience, online experience and not just for consumers but also for their branch and store staff.
From an experience perspective, our staff has been working on embedded finance with various clients for many years and we believe that taking on additional embedded finance clients and helping them to shape the future of embedded finance is the way to go!
We will begin our work to deliver more embedded finance features on our roadmap as well as curate additional clients with a focused marketing message.

LendAPI Platform Release - Preview v3.0.2
Sizer Module
We are working to modularize “Sizer”. A sizer is a manipulative tool for underwriters or applicants to tweak certain aspects of the decisioning process before submitting for a final approval.
Think of sizer as a visual version of our Pricing Engine where you can visually manipulate the input variables and see the outcome on a screen before committing your strategy. I think you will like this new module with a ton of user experience baked into it and linked to various decisioning and pricing engine strategies.
Slider Module
One of the most important UX components we are adding in this release is the slider module. A lot of banks, lenders and financial institutions want their clients to “slide” around to let them know the amount of loans they would like to take out in a visual format.
We are bringing this module to v3.0.2 and give this ultimate experience to applicants around the world. We are also combining the Sizer and Slider module together into a singular experience as well. We think you will enjoy the combination of these two new modules a lot.

LendAPI Platform v3.0.2
We will release our new upgrade of this platform on Oct 1st, 2025. It will be packed with over 100 tickets or so. Thanks to our hard working engineering team for their incredible talent and work. We’ve doubled our engineering capacity in the past few weeks with new members joining our team. These new engineers will add value in the coming releases and we will see even more features coming to our platform in the coming months.
What’s Next?
Our new focus on embedded finance gave Sam and I a renewed focus on embedded widgets and how they could be incorporated into our platform. We can’t wait to get more embedded widgets in your hands to provide the best experience for your in-store clients and store staff experiences.
Our next top line goal is $100M ARR. We unequivocally believe that we will get there in no time with the insatiable demand for our platform in the retail and online lending spaces. We look forward to working with our team, clients, advisors and our investors to get there in no time.
Embedded Financing Widget 1.0: We are doubling down on embedded financing and we will begin to focus on embedded financing widgets. We have a variety of ways for lenders to integrate into our platform today but we will make it even easier going forward. These widgets will be packed with more features and functionality going forward.
SMS Platform 2.0: Link to Sign, Link to Pay, Video Conferencing. We are working on the next generation of SMS Platform, taking it to the next level where we can use templated text to get applicants to have a live call and these calls will also be swiftly recorded. Look out for these goodies coming to you at LendAPI.com
The Co-Applicant: We are picking this back up again after our historic v3.0.0 release. So hopefully we will get this feature out for clients to design their own dynamic co-applicant flow.
Reporting infrastructure. We are building a secure and speedy reporting platform. Not just a hastily made reporting tool that is slow and cumbersome to use. This is a high priority for us this coming release and we want this to get done as soon as possible to give the data back to the people, in real time.
Lead Generator Control 2.0. We are first separating some of the features in Tenant into our Leads section. Some of the controls such as our Lead Generator Control belong in their separate architecture.
Lender Control Panel 2.0: We are digging deeper in how lenders are managed on our platform as well for clients that want greater control over how they are managing their private bank partners.

![# Specialized Credit Origination, Compliance-First BaaS, Small Business Lending, and Community Banking Rails: A Deep Dive into Four Benchmark Sponsor Banks As Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and embedded finance transition into a regulatory-first era, fintech platforms, specialty lenders, and enterprise software platforms are fundamentally reassessing their bank partnership strategies. Simple middleware connectivity and rapid, unmonitored partner onboarding have been replaced by strict regulatory oversight, direct bank-to-fintech risk governance, and highly specialized balance sheet capabilities. Sponsor banks today must deliver high-throughput credit origination, precise risk monitoring frameworks, specialized industrial bank lending structures, and resilient deposit engines. Four landmark institutions—**Blue Ridge Bank, Celtic Bank, The Citizens Bank of Clovis, and Coastal Community Bank**—represent critical pillars across commercial lending, small business credit origination, and community-driven BaaS sponsorship. --- ## The Strategic Shift: Transitioning to Governance-First Bank Partnerships The era of lightly governed BaaS middleware is over. Modern sponsor banks operate directly as primary risk, compliance, and capital infrastructure providers: ``` +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | BENCHMARK SPONSOR BANK CAPABILITIES | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | [Fintech Platforms / Specialty Lenders / SMB Platforms / Vertical SaaS] | | | | | v | | [Direct Bank Infrastructure & API Connectivity] | | | | | v | | [Regulated Bank Balance Sheet & Charter Frameworks] | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | - Programmatic Commercial & SMB Credit Origination (SBA 7(a), POS) | | | | - High-Oversight Deposit Accounts & FBO Sub-Ledgering | | | | - Industrial Bank Charter & Interest Rate Exportation Authority | | | | - Enhanced BSA/AML, CIP/KYC & Fair Lending Oversight Engines | | | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ ``` ### 1. Nationwide Credit Origination & Industrial Charter Power Specialty lenders and point-of-sale (POS) finance platforms require chartered bank partners with national lending authority. Industrial banks and state-chartered institutions allow non-bank programs to export interest rates uniformly under federal law, facilitating nationwide credit programs for consumer and business borrowers. ### 2. Specialized Small Business & SBA Lending Sponsorship Small business platforms and B2B SaaS engines often partner with premier SBA lenders to power capital distribution. Leading sponsor banks provide loan origination, government-guaranteed lending workflows, and warehouse funding structures. ### 3. Rigorous Regulatory Governance & Direct Partner Risk Management Sponsor banks now build and enforce direct compliance frameworks covering Customer Identification Programs (CIP/KYC), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) monitoring, and third-party risk management (TPRM). Modern BaaS banks integrate oversight directly into transaction flows, ensuring every program satisfies stringent federal and state regulatory mandates. --- ## Deep-Dive: Four Benchmark Sponsor Institutions --- ### A.
